SET Approaches Shareholders To Donate Dividend To Sai Jai Thai Foundation
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has recently rolled out a CSR project named “Pan Pol Aom Suk” (Donating Dividends to Charity), on top of the current project called “Pan Hoon Aom Boon” (Donating Securities to Charity), inviting investors to donate to Sai Jai Thai Foundation under the Royal Patronage to make better the society in a wide scope. Implemented by SET’s subsidiary, Thailand Securities Depository (TSD), the “Pan Hoon Aom Boon”, the first initiative in the series, has been well-received and contributed more than 2 million shares worth around THB 2.2 million (approx. USD 0.07 million) over the past 5 years since the start of the project.
SET Senior Executive Vice President Pataravasee Suvarnsorn said this charitable move aligns with SET’s vision: “Make it Work for Everyone” and aims at growing together with the society inclusively and sustainably. Notably, THB 2.2 million, as of August 1, 2020, raised from 2,043,754 shares donated since the launch of “Donating Securities to Charity” project in 2015, has already been transferred to the Sai Jai Thai Foundation for the benefit of the society as a whole.
Shareholders can choose to donate from THB 10 to THB 500 worth of their dividend payout through the “Pan Pol Aom Suk” project. Dividend donation can be made by submitting the donation form via 3 available channels 1) Investor Portal at www.set.or.th/tsd 2) postal mail and 3) TSD Counter Service. Once submitted, the amount of dividend donation stated will automatically be transferred to the foundation unless further change by the donor is stated. The donations contributed to the foundation are tax-deductible.
