EGX Signs An MOU With Sohag University For Students’ Financial Literacy

Dr. Mohammed Farid, Executive Chairman of The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Mustafa Abdel Khaleq, President of Sohag University, during the workshop “EGX for Development” in Sohag.  This comes as a continuation of EGX’s efforts to raise the levels of awareness and knowledge of the Egyptian general public of the economic developments, and to introduce basics of investment to university students.
The MoU states that EGX provides lectures to students on the basics of investment, and organize seminars for students to raise awareness of the advantages of listing on EGX, with the formation of a committee of the University and EGX to develop the necessary mechanisms, controls and executive procedures to achieve the objectives of the protocol.


The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Ahmed Sheikh Vice Chairman of EGX, Dr. Hassan Al Numani, Vice President of the University for Graduate Affairs, Dr. Abdul Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Student Education Affairs, Professor Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary General of the University, Dr. Mamdouh Al Rashidi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Yusra Al-Sayyid Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Magdi Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Hazem Al-Mashnab, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Saber Abu Aqrab, Director General of Student Affairs, Mohammed Mohammed Al-Mashnab, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Mr. Ahmed Jalal Amin, Assistant Secretary of the University, Saber Abu Aqrab, Director General of Student Affairs.
Dr. Mohamed Farid, Executive Chairman of EGX, expressed his contentment to increase the number of universities and educational institutions with which EGX has signed cooperation agreements to reach 14 universities and educational institutions, allowing the dissemination and promotion of financial culture, especially in matters related to the stock market.
 

He added that EGX developed a department specialized in financial literacy works to follow up the implementation of cooperation agreements with various educational institutions and ensure their execution and evaluation to insure that they achieve the specific targets were achieved.
 

Dr. Mustafa Abdul Khaleq, President of Sohag University, said that signing the protocol of cooperation with EGX is an important strategic step that enhances the capabilities of students and contributes to the diversification of their knowledge in various disciplines, and how to invest and save, which makes them qualified according to the needs of the labor market.
