Deutsche Börse: Cash Market Trading Volumes In January
Deutsche Börse’s cash markets generated a turnover of €181.9 billion in January (previous year: €145.3 billion).
€137.9 billion were attributable to Xetra (previous year: €123.2 billion), bringing the average daily Xetra trading volume to €6.9 billion. Trading volumes on Börse Frankfurt were €6.7 billion (previous year: €4.1 billion) and on Tradegate Exchange €37.3 billion (previous year: €18 billion).
By type of asset class, equities accounted for €155.4 billion in the entire cash market. Trading in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs generated a turnover of €23.3 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.5 billion, in certificates €1.7 billion and in funds €0.3 billion.
The DAX stock with the highest turnover on Xetra in January was SAP SE with €6.9 billion. VARTA AG led the MDAX with €1.4 billion, while NORDEX SE led the SDAX index with €378 million. In the ETF segment, the iShares Global Clean Energy UCITS ETF USD (Dist) generated the largest volume with €972 million.
